One of those days

Aghhh!!

I am having one of those days!

You know the kind of day when you want to eat everything!

You go to the frig and look.

You go to the pantry and look.

At least I hope you just look because if you start eating watch out!

It is amazing how many times I have looked today.

Why do I do it?

Nothing changes.

Yet I still feel compelled to look anyways.

Maybe it is the weather because I have friends that are having this same struggle this week!

Is it just us or is anybody else out there having this problem today?

Don’t be shy, leave me a comment.

( Please leave me a comment… I am feeling so unread! )

Are you a Frig or pantry stalker?

It is nothing to be ashamed of.

It is just another thing to overcome. That is unless your snacking every time you look.

Then you might be ashamed :)

But you still have to overcome it!  :)

  1. Suzie! I read your blog every time you update! But I know what you mean...it's kind of like, what's the point when I don't know if anyone's reading.

ANYWAY...I have been opening my fridge all day today! I'm most definately sure it's the weather. Lucky (or maybe not so lucky) for me the only things really to snack on around here are Jello and carrots.

  2. Susie,
I don't comment very often on any blog, however, today I just had to comment. I also have been struggling with snacking this week. UNFORTUNATELY, I have 2 little girls with giant bags of Easter candy accumulated from 3 different loving relatives! And after doing "decent" the past couple months, I have probably ruined it all the past 4 days! My "looking" in their bags has turned into "tasting" Thanks for encouraging me to overcome!

  3. I also read your blog every time you update, but I'm a terrible commenter!! Thanks for the encouragement! I sometimes have a bad attitude, thinking since I'm pregnant I can justify snacking, but I know every pound I put on in the next few weeks will have to come off over several months, so I really need to watch better now!! Thanks again, by the way, today I was looking in the cupboards and finding too many pretzels:)

  4. Susie, I LOVE reading your blog. I learn so much from the lessons you share. You'll never know how many times a day I hear one of your messages in my brain telling me something like "it's going to take 800 kcal buring today to lose the weight, but only take an extra 117 kcal to add a pound." Unfortunately, this week I have totally lost the will and given in to the constant migration to the fridge and pantry . . . and even trunk of my car where I had some little debbies for a work event (I feel soooooooooo ashamed and weak and totally like a HUGE loser) I am struggling to get back on the wagon (I hope that with the sun and warmer temps later this week, I will gain some extra motivation). You are such an inspiration and I just hope that I can do a millionth of what you have accomplished. Keep on sharing your lessons and experiences - I'm just one of the many people that it's impacting - although I have set backs, I have hope in my heart for a better tomorrow.

  5. Susie,

I have been so swamped that I am behind on blogs!! I have kept up on yours. BTW, I love wearing my pj's late into the day too ;)

I, too, have been having one of those weeks!! I have eaten nothing but PURE junk...like for meals too! uhg!!! What is it?! Maybe Easter weekend? I haven't been able to exercise either so that just makes it worse!

    Thanks. Misery LOVES company!

BTW, great job tonight at the Bible School meeting! I had goosebumps! You'll do awesome!

  6. Hey Susie--great post!! We too have left over candy and it is not a good thing. I tried to comment twice yesterday; however, due to my weak computer skills was having some trouble. Without my tech guy (Landon) around the commenting just didn't happen. Sorry--I'll try harder next time. Oh yea--I wanted to thank you for the encouragement on excercise on Monday! I have been a very bad girl and haven't been walking with Leslie like I should so yesterday I got that done (today too already!!) Thanks so much!!

Oh yea great job last night--you made me want to jump up and sing!! Thankfully I resisted that temptation!! Have a great day. Keep all the great posts coming, more people are reading than you think. julie l.

  7. Okay, I messed up and commented for this post on the last post, no big deal. I liked reading all of the other comments, and am glad I am not alone on this never ending food journey.

  8. Suz,

I faithfully read your blog. Unfortunately for me, I love Cadbury eggs...and since I can only get them one time a year, I have eaten many and now, sigh, I am on my last bag...but it is a good thing, they are a huge problem! I have had to graze or look in the pantry/fridge, because I go straight to the candy bowl!

    love,
    amy

  9. Suz,
I'm reading and thanks for the encouragement. I was just about to head to the break room for an Einstein Bros "bagel popper" which is essentially a donut hole named a bagel so it seems healthier. But, now I have the will power to skip the bagel popper and go straight to the fridge for a 0 calorie Diet Coke (another vice to conquer another day...)

Since I don't have time to be home much, raiding the fridge isn't my problem lately. But, my roommate did make my favorite cheesecake and leave it in the fridge, so I keep trying to hide it from myself by burying it under carrots. (as if I could forget it's there...)

Thanks for all your awesome posts and helping me skip at least one pointless calorie fest today. :)

    Love ya,
    Kris

  10. Hi Susie,

I found your blog via the comment box on "Kelly's Korner". Yes, I've had days like this...more than I care to count;-) I've worked for years on trying to recognize *true* hunger.

BTW, I really like the "Barbie" post below...too cute;-)

    Have a great day.

    Blessings!

  11. Yup, afraid that I've been looking AND eating. It was the freezer that got me. Did you know that frozen snack mix is REALLY good...
And pjs all day works great for me (just ask Barb Gerber, who caught me in them the other day :)

  12. Hey Susie,
I have to agree with all of it. Tom has been gone since Monday. When he got home he was telling me how good he did with the buffets and ice cream at his meetings. I didn't say much at first. Then he finally caught on that I was being rather sneaky. I fessed up to eating enough calories on Monday to last me for 2 1/2 days. Needless to say I'm hoping the sunshine and warmth will snap me out of this mess. Thanks for your blog. It's one of my favorites.
