You never know what you might find…

Picture of the week # 3 ( I know I"’m behind, what else is new?)

Look what I found wedged in a behind the drawer sorta spot….

A very old, gummy “PLUGGY” I am sure someone was very unhappy about 13- 16 years ago depending on the owner…

I am guessing Troy because he was a our biggest “pluggy” fan.

IMG_0264

Funny thing about this gummy, sticky, really old, non-useable pluggy….

I had a hard time throwing it out. I actually set it on my window ledge for a few days. Matter a fact I am not sure what happened to it. I think I threw it out or maybe someone less sentimental in the house did.

Or maybe It will show up a few years down the road…

and I will still have a hard time getting rid of it. :)

A good idea

So since I have been really struggling on posting I  have decide to copy Jenna and try to post one picture a week. That already puts me a week behind.

Now I am not guaranteeing new pics just a pic.

scan0002

So as I was going through pics looking for pics fro Trevors scrapbook page I ran across this one from  the olds days…some of Tadd’s Sunday school class.

All the girls are married and in a few short weeks Trevor will join their club.

You will notice how styling Tadd is above… Plaid pants and yellow polo …

Some things never change!

So my pic of the week is Tadd styling in a very old , very tight snowmobile suit.

Thank goodness we found him something to wear skiing besides this.

A 14 year old Aunt…

I was lucky enough to become an aunt at a very young age!!

I was a very good Aunt!

I let them play with Kitties. ( At least I think that is a kitty)

scan0008

I rode with them in the back seat… or was possibly forced.

scan0009

I helped them get dressed, and taught them how to cook.

scan0010

I taught them valuable life lessons

scan0011

Thought I better throw a real cute one in of kris after that last one.

scan0010

Fed them age appropriate snacks, was very cautious about how much they ate.. Especially off the floor!!

scan0011

Taught them how to be the life of the party. Even when everyone is ignoring you.

scan0014

Remind you of anyone??

scan0012

Had quality family girl time.scan0013

Introduced them to really nice guys

Played in the sand with themscan0012

Encouraged healthy exercise

Wow! Could you get any luckier than to have an aunt like me :)

I wonder what could happen as a 42 year old GREAT Aunt…

Possibilities are endless!!!  :)

Too bad I have to share with Grandma!!

Have a great one!

OH and to Clarify on that last post when I said “landed it” I meant it in the since of what goes up must come down. I don’t think it was really successful. I believe the one that looks like I really landed it was followed immediately by a face plant!

A small leak

It is amazing what a small leak can lead too…

A while back I noticed we had a leak coming from under our Laundry room into our garage.

This lead to tearing out some drywall to get to it…

which lead to cleaning out underneath the laundry room which was a small storage space.

Somehow this lead to cleaning out the attic above the garage ( at least a start)

Which lead to finding many interesting things including some pictures I had forgotten about.

Which may just be a new supply of blogging fun!

So her we go…. A blast from the past…

Amazing the things I would do in front of a boat load of guys.

scan0001

Not once

scan0003

Not twice

scan0002

Yep 3 times,  Oh to be 18 again, or not!

Incidentally after landing that last one I sprained my ankle.

The picture makes it look much more graceful than it actually was :)

I don’t think I impressed anyone.

What is that saying…Pride cometh before the fall!

Then there was my first job and first car!!

Richards Restaurant and a 1985 Chevy Cavalier!!!!

scan0004

Everyone should be a waitress at least once and I loved that little car.

scan0006

So sad when I totaled it!

scan0007

Finally Florida 1987… Fort Myers Church, I believe

scan0005

Do you know these ladies?

Funny thing I just got rid of that dress in the last month when I was cleaning out a closet. I really loved that dress. So hard to part with until I showed it to Tif and she asked me if I really wore that ugly thing!!!!

HUMMMPFF!!! Some people just don’t appreciate the 80’s!! I did get rid of though to my chagrin due to the fact that the material and the elastic were making crunchy sounds and I really didn’t think I would wear it again. Plus believe it or not it didn’t fit!! :)

All this due to the fact some glue didn’t hold my drain pipe on to my sink.

You gotta look for the good in everything!!

My Garage is getting cleaned out and I am finding lost treasures!

Till next time,

Suz

Good News, Bad News

Well I may as well get the bad news over with first.

I did terrible eating on Christmas day.

Seems I have a real problem with home made, cut out and iced Christmas cookies.

I love them!!

Especially the stars.

I can just break off a couple of rays and walk away…

sadly I always went back and just kept breaking off.

My sis in law makes the best caramels.

This year she brought them in the pan. So I could just sliver off a slice….

little, by little, by little, by little…. see a pattern?

There were other things I ate that were out of my norm.

All of this resulted in me feeling physically terrible.

My tummy was a churning, and spinning. So much that I thought I must be getting the flu.

I woke up on Christmas morning to the sounds of one of my children wretching his guts out. By 3:00 that day another son was sick. This is another whole story and it is not very pretty so I think I will just stop there.

But you get the point… My body does not like high amounts of fats and sugar so much that I felt physically sick.

This is probably a good thing.

Now for the good news. My sweet family got me a Wii and a Wii fit for Christmas.  ( okay in all honesty I told them it was all I wanted and I would help pay ) My sweet hubby went in with them and I received this very extravagant gift.

Although so far I have to wait to get a turn. Seems they all like the Wii.

I think I am really going to like it.

The Wii tells it like it is.

The first time I stepped on it went ….OHHH! ( kind of like an OH MY! )

Sorta of irritating.

Then it told me I was obese.

Kinda hurtful!

Then it said my Wii age was 52.

Very disturbing!!

But after I did a few things on it I went back and did a few more tests to determine my Wii age and it said I was 34!!

Liking that!

So I can’t wait to do it again today!

Even though it’s insulting, it is also challenging, encouraging  and so far makes exercise fun.

I think it is going to be a good thing for me.

Have a great day!

Small Victories

So the other day I was super busy. Which resulted in me being in town at about 7:00 with no supper eaten.

I was feeling pretty hungry.

I still had to stop at the grocery.

My mind was doing battle….

one little bacon cheeseburger won’t hurt…

a few fries…

a taco…

And really none of these things are terrible

But me giving into myself would be.

Plus I would scarf it down and want more.

Not cool!

So I compromised

I bought a bunch of bananas at the grocery. put all but one in the trunk.

Ate it while I finished up in town. Then went home and ate supper with my hubby.

Small victory!

Small victories win big battles! :)

Day One

Wow! it has been so long since my last post I have almost forgotten how to blog!

Today is the 1st day of my Christmas break.

Even though school was cancelled yesterday. I still went in for part of the day.

So today is truly day one of Christmas break for me!!

I took full advantage.

I slept in!! I actually still woke up at normal time. I had to force myself back to sleep :)

Now I am going to work out. Yep me and Leslie ( That is Leslie Sansone Dvds)

I have been slacking in the exercise area. My 5-7 times a week have dwindled to 1-3 if I am lucky.

I really want to change that around. Too be honest I haven’t felt as good.

My eating is not what it should be either.

I have been snacking to much.

So then I skip meals to make up for the snacking.

Which usually leads to more snacking.

So today is day one for me to getting back to that more disciplined Susie.

Starting with more exercise, more veggies, more protein and less snacks.

Everyday is a new day to try harder and do better.

My goal is to get through this eating holiday with no weight gained!!!

Wish me luck!!

Susie
